Blog 2 (Because calling it "Blog 1" would have been far too obvious)

Hello. I have a blog. Go me. Expect a "what is Ian currently up to musically" type o' thing (i.e. nothing personal).

So, with that, what am I currently up to:
  • Power Up Promotions (attempt 400-or-so)
  • Uprising
  • Digital Readout Records
  • Ian Went To Paris
You know the score with Power Up. We (me and my homie John) run gigs, we lose money, we threaten to quit, we run a surprisingly successful gig, we relent on quitting, lather, rinse, repeat. Good things a'brewing though, namely BIG D AND THE MOTHERFUCKING KIDS TABLE which I am REALLY excited about. I've wanted to book Big D since the first time I heard "LAX" and now is my chance... and... to make it even better, the line-up includes Sonic Boom Six and Random Hand. Wow. As well as this...

Uprising. Our attempt at a regular night. We really hope this works well and develops a name for itself, with people coming purely because they trust Uprising to provide them with good music. Will it work? Only time will tell.

Other than gigs, I am attempting to run a record label. Again. The Power Chord Label did okay to be fair, the compilations especially sold far, far more than I expected. So yeah, having knocked that on the head (who is really going to pay 79p for a Fletch Cadillac tune on iTunes, really?) I am attempting Digital Readout Records. Electro-type things with the assumption that kids that like electro are more likely to buy MP3s. Maybe.

That's enough for now, I'll save IWTP for another day...
